Liberatione Sir Robert Greirson of Lagg

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of there majestyes privie Councill be Sir Robert Greirsone of Lagg Shewing That where the petitioner wes a Long tyme Imprisoned formerly to the great prejudice of his health And which occasioned him to take a most violent fever after his Liberatione, which wes granted upon his granting bond to Live peaceably under the present government And albeit the petitioner hath acted nothing contrair thereto, yet haveing appeared befor there Lordships, He is made prisoner of new again to the great prejudice and danger of his health Besydes the neglect of his private effairs and actiones at Law which are presently depending And therefor Craveing that the saids Lords would be pleased to Consider the premises and grant warrand for his Liberation upon his giveing bond to Live peaceablie under the present government So that his health may not be neglected, As the said petitione bears The Saids Lords of there majestyes privie Councill haveing Considered this petitione Given in to them be the above Sir Robert Greirsone of Lagg They hereby give order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh bailzies of the Canongate and keeper of there tolbooth to sett the petitioner at Liberty furth thereof In respect he hes given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councill That he shall Live peaceablie and with all submission to the present government under there Majestyes King William and Queen Mary And that he shall not act consult or contryve any thing in prejudice thereof and that he shall not converse or Correspond with any rebells and shall appear befor the saids Lords of privie Councill when called for under the penalty of Fyve Hundreth pound Sterling.

Liberatione of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Sir Robert Grierson of Lag showing that where the petitioner was a long time imprisoned formerly to the great prejudice of his health, and which occasioned him to take a most violent fever after his liberation, which was granted upon his granting bond to live peaceably under the present government, and albeit the petitioner has acted nothing contrary thereto, yet having appeared before their lordships, he is made prisoner of new again to the great prejudice and danger of his health besides the neglect of his private affairs and actions at law which are presently depending, and therefore craving that the said lords would be pleased to consider the premises and grant warrant for his liberation upon his giving bond to live peaceably under the present government, so that his health may not be neglected, as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered this petition given in to them by the above Sir Robert Grierson of Lag they hereby give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh, baillies of the Canongate and keeper of their tolbooth to set the petitioner at liberty furth thereof, in respect he has given bond and found sufficient caution acted in the books of privy council that he shall live peaceably and with all submission to the present government under their majesties King William and Queen Mary, and that he shall not act, consult or contrive anything in prejudice thereof, and that he shall not converse or correspond with any rebels, and shall appear before the said lords of privy council when called for under the penalty of five hundred pounds sterling.
