Act Mr Henrie Knox for Stipend

Anent the petitione Given to the Lords of there Majesties privie Counsell be Mr Henrie Knox late Minister of Bouden Shewing That the petitioner having been depryved of his Church in the Moneth of September Jaj vjc and Eightie Nyne yeirs since which tyme the petitioner hes Lived peaceably under ther Majestyes present Government And the said Church of Bouden having been vacant till december last And the petitioner haveing made applicatione to the Earle of Roxburgh undoubted patrone thereof and his honourable Curators for the said vacant stipends The said Earle with Consent of his Curators by there warrand and Grant of the date the tenth of February Instant have Given to the petitioner ane years vacand stipend due by the paroch for the cropt and year vacand stipend due by the said paroch for the cropt and year of God Jaj vjc and Nyntie years And have ordered the petitioner to supplicate the saids Lords of privie Counsell to Interpose there authority for the effectual payment to him of the said years stipend As the said warrand of the date forsaid produced with the said petitione bears And therefor craveing to the effect underwreitten as the said petitione bears The saids Lords of there Majestyes privie Counsell Having Considered the petition given in to them be the above Mr Henrie Knox Late Minister at Bouden with the Gift or Consent from the patrone mentioned therein and produced therewith They hereby allow the petitioner the stipend of the said kirk of Bouden for the haill cropt and year Jaj vjc and Nyntie And ordaines him to be readiely ansuered obeyed and payed therof be the heretors fewers Lyfrenters titulars tacksmen of teynds tennents possessors and others Lyable in payment therof And ordaines Letters of horning to be direct at his instance against them for that effect he produceing a decreet of Locality and in case there be none ordaines these Lyable To make payment of there respective proportiones of the said years stipend according as the samen shall be decerned be the Judge ordinarie

Act Mr Henry Knox for stipend

Concerning the petition given to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Mr Henry Knox, late minister of Bowden, showing that the petitioner having been deprived of his church in the month of September 1689, since which time the petitioner has lived peaceably under their majesties’ present government, and the said church of Bowden having been vacant till December last, and the petitioner having made application to [Robert Ker] the earl of Roxburghe, undoubted patron thereof, and his honourable curators for the said vacant stipend, the said earl with consent of his curators by their warrant and grant of the date the tenth of February instant have given to the petitioner one year’s vacant stipend due by the parish for the crop and year of God 1690, and have ordered the petitioner to supplicate the said lords of privy council to interpose their authority for the effectual payment to him of the said year’s stipend as the said warrant of the date foresaid produced with the said petition bears, and therefore craving to the effect underwritten as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered the petition given in to them by the above Mr Henry Knox, late minister at Bowden, with the gift or consent from the patron mentioned therein and produced therewith, they hereby allow the petitioner the stipend of the said kirk of Bowden for the whole crop and year 1690, And ordain him to be readily answered, obeyed, and paid thereof by the heritors, feuers, liferenters, titulars, tacksmen of teinds, tenants, possessors, and others liable in payment thereof. And ordain letters of horning to be directed at his instance against them for that effect, he producing a decreet of locality. And in case there be none, ordain those liable to make payment of their respective proportions of the said year’s stipend according as the same shall be discerned be the judge ordinary.
