Comittee and Liberation Patrick Watsone

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby Give order and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh Bailzies of the Canongate and keeper of the tolbooth thereof to Liberate furth of the said tolbooth Patrick Watsone servitor to the deceist Sir George Mckenzie of Rosehaugh his Lady But befor his Liberatione appoints him to be examined in presence of and Confronted with the said William Gordon of Pencaitland anent the tyme At which the2 Earle of Sieforth came to the said William Gordons house and where the Earle wes befor he came to Pencaitland whether at the house of the Shank or at what other place And recomends to the Lord Raith theasurer deput Sir John Maxwell of Pollock and Sir William Lockhart to examine the said Patrick Watsone tuo of them being a quorum.

Committee and liberation for Patrick Watson

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh, bailies of the Canongate and keeper of the tolbooth thereof to liberate out of the said tolbooth Patrick Watson, servitor to the late Sir George MacKenzie of Rosehaugh’s wife [Margaret Haliburton] but before his liberation, they appoint him to be examined in presence of and confronted with the said William Gordon of Pencaitland concerning the time at which the [Kenneth MacKenzie], earl of Seaforth came to the said William Gordon’s house and where the earl was before he came to Pencaitland whether at the house of the Shank or at what other place, and they recommend to the Lord Raith, treasurer depute, Sir John Maxwell of Pollock and Sir William Lockhart to examine the said Patrick Watson, two of them being a quorum.
