Act approveing of Sir Thomas Livingstouns seizing of horses and appointing them to be brought to Edinburgh and suburbs

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill Considering that Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there Majestyes forces within this kingdome by warrand from some of there Number hes Caused seize several horses and some armes And haveing Considered the report made to them by a Comittee of there oune Number in this effair They approve of what the said Sir Thomas hes done in this matter as good service to there majestyes and the government And finds that he hes acted therein warrantably And Conforme to his Comission And Recomends to the said Sir Thomas Imediatly to give orders for and cause bring in to Edinburgh Canongate or the Suburbs of the said toun the wholl horses seized by any persones to whom he gave orders for prosecuteing his Comission And to put these horses in stables within the bounds forsaids And ordaines the stablers in these bounds to receave and detain the saids horses in there stables and give recept for such as they receave And ordaines the saids horses to be Entertained by the stablers The expenses whereof shall be repayed to them by the ouners of the horses And allowes the ouners of the saids horses to sell and dispose upon the same to any of there majesties well affected subjects at the sight of the said Sir Thomas.

Act approving of Sir Thomas Livingston’s seizing of horses and appointing them to be brought to Edinburgh and suburbs

The lords of their majesties’ privy council considering that Sir Thomas Livingston, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom, by warrant from some of their number has seized several horses and some arms, and having considered the report made to them by a committee of their own number in this affair, they approve of what the said Sir Thomas has done in this matter as good service to their majesties and the government, and find that he has acted therein warrantably and according to his commission, and they recommend to the said Sir Thomas immediately to give orders for bringing in to Edinburgh, Canongate or the suburbs of the said town all the horses seized by any persons to whom he gave orders for prosecuting his commission and to put those horses in stables within the foresaid bounds, and they ordain the stablers in those bounds to receive and detain the said horses in their stables and give receipts for such as they receive, and they ordain the said horses to be entertained by the stablers, the expenses whereof shall be repaid to them by the owners of the horses, and they allow the owners of the said horses to sell and dispose of the same to any of their majesties well-affected subjects at the sight of the said Sir Thomas.
