Act Mr George Purvis for stipend
Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of there majesties privie Councill be Mr George Purvis minister at Glencorss Shewing That albeit the petitioner did give all obedience to the act of the Estates the threetteint day of Apryll Jaj vjc Eighty nyne and all other acts emitted by authority Enjoyneing fasts and thanksgivings by reading these acts from the pulpitt and constantly prayeing for there majesties King William and Queen Mary And accordingly obtained ane act of the Comittee of estates in his favours upon the seventh of Maij Jaj vjc Eighty nyne produced with the said petitione bearing that he did give obedience to the said proclamatione of the dait the said thretteint day of Apryll Jaj vjc Eightie nyne And ordaining some of the heretors to protect him in the exercise of his ministrie not with standing of all which a few of the meanest of the people of that pariochine did violently upon a sabbath day, pull the petitioner out of the pulpitt and discharge him preaching further there under the pain of death And sieing the stipend for the cropt Jaj vjc nyntie one is as yet due and undisposed of, and the petitioner in verie great straitts and difficultyes and hes not whereupon to Subsist And sieing the patrone of the paroch hes consented that the petitioner gett that stipend as the consent Lykewayes produced with the said petitione hes testifyed and therefore Craveing that the saids Lords would be pleased to ordaine the heretors and others Lyable to make payment to the petitioner of the said stipend for the said year Jaj vjc and nyntie one And ordaine Letters upon production of a decreet of Locality at his instance for that effect And in case there be none to ordaine these Lyable to make payment to him of there respective proportiones of the said stipend according as they shall be decerned be the Judge ordinarie As the said petitione bears The Saids Lords of there majesties privie Councill Haveing Considered this petitione given in to them be the above Mr George Purvis with the act of Convention of Estates and consent of the patrone produced thereith They allow to the petitioner the stipend of the above kirk of Glencorss for the first half of the cropt and year Jaj vjc nyntie one And ordaines him to be readiely ansuered obeyed and payed thereof be the heretors fewers Lyfrenters titulars tacksmen of teynds tennents possessors and others Lyable in payment of the samen And ordaines Letters of horning to be direct at his instance againest them for that effect upon productione of a decreet of Locality And in case there be none ordaines these Lyable To make payment of there respective proportiones according as they shall be decerned be the Judge ordinary And ordaines the saids Letters of horning to be direct under the Signett of Councill In respect the petitioner hes given in to the Clerks of Councill ane obleidgement under his hand Binding and obleidgeing himself That for the future He shall pray for there majesties King William and Queen Mary as King and Queen of this realme.
