Act Mr Alexander Keith for stipend
Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill be William Patten of Panholls and Daniell Nicolson wreitter in Edinburgh actor and factor for the Lady and fewers of Tilliecultrie and Mr Alexander Keith sometyme minister of the gospel at Tilliecultrie Shewing That whereas the Church of Tilliecultrie being vacant for the year Jaj vjc and nyntie one There wes ane petitione given in to there Lordships be William Pattoun of Panholls who hade ane depositione to the patronadge from Sir Thomas Nicolsone of Tilliecultrie Representing that he hade appointed the said years stipend to be Imployed towards the building a bridge over the water of Devan which runes through the said paroch And therefore craveing that the saids Lords might Interpone there authority thereto which the saids Lords granted and the petitione is yet still Lyeing in the Clerks hands untaken out Likeas the said Mr Alexander Keith did therefter supplicat the saids Lords to grant the said stipend to him towards the releiving him and his numerous familye necessityes And since syne the said Daniell Nicolsone hes in name of the said Lady Tilliecultrie and some of the vassells there Given in aneother petitione to the saids Lords craveing that the said years stipend may be applyed for repairing the ruinous manse of the said paroch which tuo petitiones have not been yet considered be the saids Lords And the said William Patton being Informed that the building the forsaid bridge would requyre tuyce as much as the said years stipend And being willing to Compassionat the necessitous Condition of the said Mr Alexander Keith and his numerous family Therefore he with advyce and consent of the said Daniell Nicolsone hes condescended that of the said years stipend the said Mr Alexander Keith shall have right to uplift six hundreth merks and the remainder which will be about Four Hundreth merks shall be applyed for repairing the said manse of Tilliecultrie And therefore Craveing that the saids Lords would be pleased to ordaine there Clerks to give back to the said William Pattoun the forsaid petitione given in be him with his Instructiones thereof And Interpone there Lordships authority to the forsaid agreement And for that effect to grant Letters of horning againest theose that are lyable in payment at the instance of the said Mr Alexander Keith for his proportione And at the instance of such a persone as shall be named be the said William Pattoun and Daniell Nicolsone for the rest of it who may find Caution to apply the samen for repairing the said manse as the said petitione bears The Saids Lords of there majestyes privie Councill Haveing considered this petitione given in to them be the above William Pattoun Daniell Nicolsone and Mr Alexander Keith They allow the said Mr Alexander Keith six Hundreth merks scotts of the above stipend of the Kirk of Tilliecultrie for the cropt and year of God Jaj vjc nyntie one and they allow the super plus of that years stipend being about Four Hundreth merks To be Imployed for repairing of the above manse of Tilliecultrie And nominates and appoints […] to be factor for uplifting of the said Four Hundreth merks And ordaines the heretors fewers Lyfrenters titulars tacksmen of teynds tennents possessors and others Lyable in payment of the samen years stipend Jaj vjc and nyntie one to make payment thereof to the saids Mr Alexander Keith and factor above named in maner above divyded And ordaines Letters of horning to be direct at there instances against them for that effect upon productione of a decreet of Locality and incase there be none ordaines these Lyable to make payment of there respective propertiones according as the samen shall be decerned be the Judge ordinarie The said factor alwayes befor extracting hereof Finding sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councill That he shall Imploy the said Four Hundreth merks upon the reparatione of the said manse of Tilliecultrie and the saids Lords doe hereby recall there Interloquitor of the dait the […] day of […] Last allowing Pattoun of Panholls to bestow the said years stipend for building a bridge over the water of Devane2 In respect the said Mr Alexander Keith hes given in to the Clerks of Councill ane obleidgement subscryved be him Binding and obleidgeing himself that for the future he shall pray for there majestyes King William and Queen Mary as King and Queen of this Realme.
