Act and pass Captain John Gordon

Anent the petition Given in to the Lords of there Majesties privie Counsell be Captain John Gordon Shewing that the petitionere in Maij last being conveened befor a Comittee of the saids Lords there Number He was ordained to give an obleidgement upon his honour to Live peaceably under there majestyes government ay and untill he should setle his effairs here in Scotland And the petitioner being borne and educate the most of his tyme in Germanie where he is now designed to goe and remaine with his friends There Lordships allowing him there pass for that effect And in respect he hes demained himself with all duety and submissione to the government And haveing nothing to Live upon here And therefor Craveing to the effect underwreatten As the said petitione bears The saids Lords of there majestyes privie Counsell having Considered this petitione Given in to them be the above Captain Gordone They hereby allow the petitioner to returne again to Germany And Declares thir presents to be to all persones concerned, ane sufficient pass for the petitioners travelling on his Journey from this to Germany without trouble or molestatione He behaveing himself as becometh

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Captain John Gordon, showing that the petitioner in May last being convened before a committee of the said lords their number, he was ordained to give an obligation upon his honour to live peaceably under their majesties’ government until he should settle his affairs here in Scotland. And the petitioner being born and educated the most of his time in Germany where he is now designed to go and remain with his friends, their lordships allowing him their pass for that effect. And in respect he has demeaned himself with all duty and submission to the government, and having nothing to live upon here, and therefore craving to the effect underwritten as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered this petition given in to them by the above Captain Gordon they hereby allow the petitioner to return again to Germany, and declare these present to be to all persons concerned a sufficient pass for the petitioner’s travelling on his journey from this to Germany without trouble or molestation, he behaving himself as becomes.
