Liberation Sir William Paterson Borthwick of Fallahill and Watson of Saughtoun

The Lords of there majesties privie Councill doe hereby give order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and Bailzies of the Canongate To sett at Liberty furth of the tolbooth of the Canongate Sir William Patersone of Grantoun Alexander Borthwick of Falahill and James Watsone of Sauchtoun In respect they have found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councill That they shall Live peaceablie under and with all submissione to the present government of there majesties King William and Queen Mary And that they shall not act consult nor contryve any thing in prejudice thereof nor shall not Converse nor correspond with any rebells And that they shall appear befor the Lords of there majesties privie Councill when called for under the penaltie of Ane Hundreth pounds sterling for each of them In case they shall transgress in any pairt of the premises

The lords of their majesties’ privy council do hereby give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh and bailies of the Canongate to set at liberty forth of the tolbooth of the Canongate Sir William Paterson of Granton, Alexander Borthwick of Falahill, and James Watson of Saughton, in respect they have found sufficient caution acted in the books of privy council that they shall Live peaceably under and with all submission to the present government of their majesties King William and Queen Mary. And that they shall not act consult nor contrive anything in prejudice thereof, nor shall converse nor correspond with any rebels. And that they shall appear before the lords of their majesties’ privy council when called for under the penalty of £100 Sterling for each of them in case they shall transgress in any part of the premises.
