Act Mr James Drummond for stipend

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of there Majestyes privie Counsell be Mr James Drummond minister at Kilconchar Shewing That where at the appointment of the presbitry of St Andrews and Coupar And at the desyre of the paroch The petitioner Entered to preach in the kirk of Kilconchar in the Latter end of March last And therefter being called by the greatest pairt of the heretors wholl elders and bodie of the people His Call wes sustained by the presbitry in the beginning of Maij And in Junij therefter he wes Lawfully Institute and admitted minister there As ane Certificat of the presbitrie produced with the said petitione testifyes And sieing that it is manifest2 that the petitioner entered to preach and serve the Cure in the Latter end of March last which wes Long befor whitsonday albeit not Importune till some dayes after And that there Lordships in such cases are in use to dispose with the precise terme of entrie And to understand the same more Largely And therefor Craveing to the effect underwreitten As the said petitione bears The saids Lords of there Majesties privie Counsell haveing Considered this petitione Given in to them be the above Mr James Drummond with the testificate of the presbitry mentioned therein and produced therewith They hereby allow to the petitioner the stipend of the kirk of Kilconchar for the terme From Mertiinmes Jaj vjc and Nyntie to whitsonday Jaj vjc and Nyntie one years And ordaines him to be readiely ansuered obeyed therof be the heretors fewers wodsetters and others Lyable in payment of the Samen And ordaines Letters of horning at the petitioners instance against them for that effect He produceing ane decreet of Locality And in case there be non ordaines these Lyable to make payment to the petitioner of there respective proportiones of the said stipend for the space forsaid according as they shall be decerned be the Judge ordinary

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Mr James Drummond, minister at Kilconquhar, shewing that where at the appointment of the presbytery of St Andrews and Coupar and at the desire of the parish the petitioner entered to preach in the kirk of Kilconquhar in the latter end of March last And thereafter being called by the greatest part of the heritors whole elders and body of the people his call was sustained by the presbytery in the beginning of May and in June thereafter he was lawfully instituted and admitted minister there, as a certificate of the presbytery produced with the said petition testifies. And seeing that it is manifest that the petitioner entered to preach and serve the cure in the latter end of March last which was long before Whitsunday albeit not importune till some days after and that their lordships in such cases are in use to dispose with the precise term of entry and to understand the same more largely and therefore craving to the effect underwritten as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered this petition given in to them be the above Mr James Drummond with the testificat of the presbytery mentioned therein and produced therewith they hereby allow to the petitioner the stipend of the kirk of Kilconquhar for the term from Martinmas 1690 to Whitsunday 1691, and ordain him to be readily answered [and] obeyed thereof by the heritors, feuers, wadsetters and others liable in payment of the same and ordain letters of horning at the petitioner’s instance against them for that effect, he producing a decreet of locality, and in case there be none, ordain those liable to make payment to the petitioner of their respective proportions of the said stipend for the space foresaid according as they shall be discerned be the judge ordinary.
