Act Anent the books of Caithnes shyre

Anent a Petition given in to the Lords of their majesties privy Councill be the Earle of Broadalbine for himself and remanent heritors in the shyre of Caithnes Shewing That the books of valuatione and the Collectors books and other books of the excyss and supply within the shyre of Caitnes wall lodged in the hands of […] Sinclar of Dumbaith who being now deceased the saids books of others relateing therto may be in hazard of Lossing or wandring in the hands of persones not concerned unles remeed ware provyded be the saids Lords And Therfore Humbly Craveing the saids Lords would ordaine the sones of the said deceast Laird of Dumbaith in whose hands the books and others forsaids are to exhibit and deliver the same to […] Dumbar of Hempriggs shireff Depute of the shyre or of […] Shireff Clerk to be keep’t for the publict service and made furthcoming to all persones haveing intrest as the petitione bears The Lords of their Majesties privy Councill haveing Considered this petitione given in to them be the above Earle of Brodalbine, They heirby Ordaine, John Wiliam, James, and David Sinclares sones to the above deceased Sinclair of Dumbaith in whose hands the above books of valuatione and other books are to exhibit and deliver up the saids books and others to William Dumbar of Hempriggs shireff depute or William Campbell shireff Clerk of the above shyre of Caithnes to be keeped for the publict service and made furthcomeing to all persones haveing intrest And appoints the forsaid exhibitione to made one oath In presence of Mr Andrew Monro minister at Thurso, And Ordaines letters of horning on six dayes and others needfull to be direct heiron in forme as effeirs.
