Liberatione William Gladstains and others

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill doe hereby Give order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh Bailzie of the Canongate and Keeper of there tolbooth To sett at Liberty furth thereof William Glaidstanes seaman, James Drummond Keneth Urquhart James Montgomerie David Cockburne and William Poll ships boy to William Smith skipper prisoner therein all seized at Dumbar upon suspicion of Converseing or Corresponding with a French Caper Lately within the Firth [of Forth] In respect they haveing been examined Nothing can be made out againest them.

The lords of their majesties’ privy council doe hereby give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh, bailie of the Canongate, and keeper of their tolbooth to set at liberty forth thereof William Gladstone, seaman, James Drummond, Kenneth Urquhart, James Montgomery, David Cockburn, and William Poll, ship’s boy to William Smith, skipper, prisoners therein, all seized at Dunbar upon suspicion of conversing or corresponding with a French caper lately within the firth, in respect they having been examined nothing can be made out against them.
