Decreet

Interlocutor concerning Crawford younger of Ardmillan

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by William Crawford of Ardmillan younger, showing that it having been the petitioner’s fate for some years past to have been in circumstances obnoxious to the laws as being in arms with those who opposed their majesties’ government, and the petitioner being now most desirous to betake himself to their majesties’ mercy and protection, which he hopes is still ready to be extended to all such as so earnestly wish it and so sincerely intend to acknowledge it, and therefore craving that their lordships would be pleased to consider the premises and to admit the petitioner to the protection of their majesties’ government in such manner as the said lords should think fit to prescribe with regard to the petitioner’s valetudinary condition, as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered this petition given in to them by the above William Crawford, together with the report of their majesties’ solicitor (to whom it was remitted to inquire into the petitioner’s circumstances) that the petitioner is forfeited by the parliament, they hereby remit the petitioner either to make application to the king’s majesty, or appoint him to deliver up himself prisoner to the council.
