The lords of their majesties’ privy council having this day called Mr Alexander Lundie, late minister at Cupar, one of the ministers within the shire of Fife included in the libel at the solicitor’s instance against some ministers in that shire for not praying for their majesties King William and Queen Mary, and the said Mr Alexander, having appeared personally at the bar, the said lords, considering that the said Mr Alexander at his first appearance before their lordships acknowledged that he preached since the act of parliament of 22 July 1690 (concerning ministers that have not prayed for the king and queen), and that he did not pray for the king and Queen Mary by name but having a mixed auditory he prayed so as might please both parties, the said lords ordained the said Mr Alexander to be carried from the bar to the tolbooth of Edinburgh by the macers of council, there to remain during the council’s pleasure.
