Letter from the Councill To the moderator of the presbitry of Dalkeith

The Following Letter Signed be the Lord Chancellour In name of the Councill wes ordered to be recorded, whereof the tenor followes – Sir. There being ane petitione presented to the Councill In name of the heretors of Cranstoun paroch Representing that yow are about to plant the kirk of Cranstoun without a due regaird to the Interest of, and Call from the saids heretors These are therefor appoynting yow to see and ansuer the said petitione againest the Eleaventh day of october next And recomending to yow in the mean tyme to forbear any further progress in planting that Church Signed In name and by warrand of the Councill by sic subscribitur Tweeddale Cancel: j:p:d

Letter from the council to the moderator of the presbytery of Dalkeith

The following letter signed by the lord chancellor in name of the council was ordered to be recorded, whereof the tenor follows: Sir, There being a petition presented to the council in name of the heritors of Cranston parish representing that you are about to plant the kirk of Cranston without due regard to the interest of and call from the said heritors. These are therefore appointing you to see and answer the said petition against 11 October next, and recommending to you in the mean time to forbear any further progress in planting that church. Signed in name and by warrant of the council by: subscribed Tweeddale Chancellor in presence of the lords.
