Letter from Commissioners in Lanerkshyre

A Letter from the Commissioners of Supplie in Lanerk shyre In ansuer to a letter from the Councill to them anent the officers of Fencible men and heretors offering there Lyves and fortunes in defence of the protestant religion and there Majesties persone and government And humbly desyreing that there fencible men may be regimented, Read, and a Letter appointed by the Councill to be drawen Returning the Councills thanks to these Commissioners And signifyeing to them that the Councills pleasure is not only that they transmitt to the Councill the Lists of the Inferior officers both of heretors and Fenciblemen But Lykewayes recomend to them such persones persones2 as they think fittest to Comand as Collonells and Leivetennent Collonells over the Fencible men in the said shyre

Letter from commissioners in Lanarkshire

A letter from the commissioners of supply in Lanarkshire in answer to a letter from the council to them concerning the officers of fencible men and heritors, offering their lives and fortunes in defence of the Protestant religion and their majesties persons and government and humbly desiring that their fencible men may be regimented, was read and a letter appointed by the council to be drafted returning the council’s thanks to those commissioners and signifying to them that the council’s pleasure is not only that they transmit to the council the lists of the inferior officers both of heritors and fencible men but likewise recommend to them such persons as they think fittest to command as colonels and lieutenant colonels over the fencible men in the said shire.
