Sprinkell sent to prison

Sir Patrick Maxwell of Sprinkell being called for and requyred to give his parroll of honour not to ryse in armes againest there majesties government nor forces And haveing refused to signe the said parroll The Councill gave order to the macers of Councill to Comitt the said Sir Patrick prisoner to the tolbooth of the Cannongate to remain prisoner there dureing the Councills pleasure

Sir Patrick Maxwell of Sprinkell being called for and required to give his parole of honour not to rise in arms against their majesties’ government or forces, and having refused to sign the said parole, he council gave order to the macers of council to commit the said Sir Patrick prisoner to the tolbooth of the Canongate to remain a prisoner there during the council’s pleasure.
