Order for Incamping the Forces

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill Find it convenient that there be ane Encampment of the horse and dragoons in Tranent muir And appoints the shyres of Edinburgh and Haddingtoun to provyde them corne and straw proportionally according to there valuationes or monethly assessment which keeps the same proportione And appoints the provisiones to be furnished for a fourtnights tyme And that they come fresh every day to the Camp And there be Four Chalders of oatts and a thousand stone of straw furnished each day And appoints the Comissioners of Supplie within the saids shyres of Edinburgh and Haddingtoun to meet and set pryces Conforme to the act of parliament upon the corne and straw to be furnished to the forces dureing there Encampment at the said place

The lords of their majesties’ privy council find it convenient that there be an encampment of the horse and dragoons in Tranent Muir, and appoint the shires of Edinburgh and Haddington to provide them corn and straw proportionally according to their valuations or monthly assessment which keeps the same proportion, and appoint the provisions to be furnished for a fortnight’s time, and that they come fresh every day to the camp and there be four chalders of oats and 1,000 stone of straw furnished each day, and appoint the commissioners of supply within the said shires of Edinburgh and Haddington to meet and set prices according to the act of parliament for the corn and straw to be furnished to the forces during their encampment at the said place.
