Comittee anent John Tweedie

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby recomend to the Comittee appoynted for putting the Countrey in a posture of defence to Call for John Tweedie prisoner in the tolbooth of Edinburgh for treasonable expressiones againest there majesties and the government And to examine him and Consider his case and deportment with power to give order for setting him at Liberty In case they shall find cause And in the mean tyme gives order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh to cause take off the Irons which are upon the said John and the said Comittee haveing mett upon the fyfteint day of the said moneth of Junij did sett the said John Tweedie free from the barr

Committee concerning John Tweedie

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby recommend to the committee appointed for putting the country in a posture of defence to call for John Tweedie, prisoner in the tolbooth of Edinburgh for treasonable expressions against their majesties and the government, and to examine him and consider his case and deportment, with power to give order for setting him at liberty in case they shall find cause; and in the meantime they give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh to cause take off the irons which are upon the said John; and the said committee, having met upon the fifteenth of the said month of June, set the said John Tweedie free from the bar.
