Recommendation to Sir Thomas Livingston anent witnesses against Halyburton and Fraser

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of there Majestyes privie Counsell be Sir William Lockhart there Majestyes Sollicitor Shewing That in the process of treasone persued againest Halyburtoun and Fraser prisoners in the tolbooth of Edinburgh Leivetennent William Maxwell […] Sloass Serjeant and James Wishart dummer all in the Earle of Levens regiment are most necessarie witnesses And In respect the said regiment may be transported over sea’s before the said tryall Therefor Craveing that there Lordships would be pleased to give order to secure the forsaids persones from goeing over sea’s untill the said tryall be over And for that effect Grant Having to Sir Thomas Livingstoun to send for the forsaids persones to remain at Edinburgh untill the said tryall be over As the said petitione bears The saids Lords of there Majestyes privie Cousell having Considered this petition Given in to them be there Majesties Sollicitor The hereby Recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoun Commander in cheiff of there Majestyes Forces within this kingdome to Give order for the above Leivetennent maxwell, Serjeant Sloass and James Wishart there repairing to Edinburgh and Remaining in the said City untill the second Thursday of March next to come that the tryall of the above Halyburtoun and Fraser may be over

Recommendation to Sir Thomas Livingston concerning witnesses against Halyburton and Fraser

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Sir William Lockhart, their majesties’ solicitor, showing that in the process of treason pursued against Halyburton and Fraser, prisoners in the tolbooth of Edinburgh, Lieutenant William Maxwell, […] Sloass, sergeant, and James Wishart, drummer, all in the earl of Leven’s regiment are most necessary witnesses and in respect the said regiment may be transported overseas before the said trial, therefor craving that their lordships would be pleased to give order to secure the foresaid persons from going overseas until the said trial be over, and for that effect grant recommendation to Sir Thomas Livingston to send for the foresaid persons to remain at Edinburgh until the said trial be over as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered this petition given in to them by their majesties’ solicitor, the hereby recommend to Sir Thomas Livingston, commander-in-chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom, to give order for the above Lieutenant Maxwell, Sergeant Sloass and James Wishart their repairing to Edinburgh and remaining in the said city until the second Thursday of March next to come that the trial of the above Halyburton and Fraser may be over.
