Recomendation to Sir Thomas Livingstoun anent the Castle and Garison of Dumbartoun

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill doe hereby Recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there majesties forces within this Kingdome to take tryall In what case the Castle of Dumbartoun is and the garisone within the same And what number of souldiers are therein And what officers doe Comand them And to take care to furnish the said Castle with such souldiers and officers as he shall find the same to stand in nead of in the present Circumstances of effairs.

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby recommend to Sir Thomas Livingston, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom, to investigate the condition of the Castle of Dumbarton and the garrison within the same, and what number of soldiers are therein, and what officers command them, and to take care to furnish the said castle with such soldiers and officers as he shall find the same to stand in need of in the present circumstances of affairs.
