Reference to Sir Thomas Livingstoun anent Leiutenant Murray and Captain Mair

Conforme to the order of Councill of the daitt the Fyfth day of Jullij Instant Leivetennent James Murray haveing offered to sist himself befor the Councill The Lords of privie Councill doe hereby recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in cheiff of there majestyes forces within this Kingdom to take2 bond with sufficient Cautione from the3 said Leivetennent Murray That he shall Live peaceablie and with all submissione to the present government under there majesties King William and Queen Mary And that he shall not act consult nor Contryve any thing In prejudice thereof nor converse or Correspond with rebells And that he shall appear befor the saids Lords when called for under the penalty of […] And recomends to the said Sir Thomas upon the recept of the said bond to delyver in the same to the Clerks of Councill And upon receaving thereof allowes the former bond to be given up. And recomends to the said Sir Thomas Livingstoun to examine Captain Mair in the above matter whereupon he is to examine the said Leivetennent Murray And to report the examinationes to the Lord High Chancellour And recomends to the sollicitor to cause a macer of Councill Cite the said Captain Mair to appear befor the said Sir Thomas.

Reference to Sir Thomas Livingston concerning Lieutenant Murray and Captain Mair

Conforming to the order of council of the date 5 July instant Lieutenant James Murray having offered to sist himself before the council the lords of privy council do hereby recommend to Sir Thomas Livingston, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom, to take bond with sufficient caution from the said Lieutenant Murray that he shall live peaceably and with all submission to the present government under their majesties King William and Queen Mary, and that he shall not act, consult nor contrive anything in prejudice thereof, nor converse or correspond with rebels, and that he shall appear before the said lords when called for under the penalty of […], and recommend to the said Sir Thomas upon the receipt of the said bond to deliver in the same to the clerks of council, and upon receiving thereof allows the former bond to be given up, and recommend to the said Sir Thomas Livingston to examine Captain Mair in the above matter, whereupon he is to examine the said Lieutenant Murray, and to report the examinations to the lord high chancellor and recommend to the solicitor to cause a macer of council cite the said Captain Mair to appear before the said Sir Thomas.
