Lord Bellenden Late ArchBishop of Glasgow and Nevill Payn ordered Closs prisoners

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby recomend to and requyre the Earle of Leven Governour of the Castle of Edinburgh to keep the Lord Bellinden, the late ArchBishop of Glasgow and Henrie Naval Pain presently prisoners in the said castle in there respective chambers there, And not to suffer any persone to have access to them or converse with them Except the Kings phisician whom they hereby allow to have access to Naval Paine If he call for a phisician And whom they appoint to consult with Naval Pains oune phisician If he desyre him so to doe, In any place except the said castle

Lord Bellenden, the former archbishop of Glasgow and Neville Payne ordered close prisoners

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby recommend to and require the earl of Leven, governor of the Castle of Edinburgh to keep the [John] Lord Bellenden, [John Paterson], former archbishop of Glasgow and Henry Neville Payne, presently prisoners in the said castle in their respective chambers there, and not to suffer any person to have access to them or converse with them except the king’s physician whom they hereby allow to have access to Neville Payne if he calls for a physician, and whom they appoint to consult with Neville Payne’s own physician if he desires him to do so, in any place except the said castle.
