Petition Alexander Halyburtoune processed for the same cryme before the Lords Justice Generall and Commissioners of Justiciary being presented by the Earle of Lothian Lord Justice Generall Craveing that there Lordships of the Justiciary would superceed the pronunceing of sentence againest him untill his majestyes pleasure be knowen In respect what he acted wes as a souldier and as one altogether Ignorant of the Law and hazard and punishments due upon that accompt being read in Councill wes also Lett fall and no notice taken thereof not being directed to the Councill

Petition by Alexander Halyburton processed for the same crime before the lords justice general and commissioners of justiciary being presented by [Robert Kerr] earl of Lothian, lord justice general, craving that their lordships of the Justiciary would supersede the pronouncing of sentence against him until his majesty’s pleasure be known, in respect what he acted was as a soldier and as one altogether ignorant of the law and hazard and punishments due upon that account, being read in council was also let fall and no notice taken thereof not being directed to the council.
