Address for a Fast

Address be the Synod of Louthian and Tueeddale with Correspondence from the synods of Fyff Dumfreiss Perth and Stirling Merss and Teviotdale Craveing that the Councill would interpose there Civill authoritie for keeping a day of solemne and publict thanksgiveing to God for the preservatione of his Majesties persone and the protestant religion from the many dangers and execrable Conspiracies they have been exposed to Read And a proclamatione appointed to be prepared and presented to the Councill at there meeting the morrow ordaining a solemne thanksgiveing to be keept throughout all the Kingdome for the Causes forsaid upon the dayes following viz the tenth day of November instant for the toun of Edinburgh and suburbs thereof And the tuenty fourth day of the said moneth for all the rest of the Kingdome.

Address be the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale, with correspondence from the synods of Fife, Dumfries, Perth and Stirling, Merse, and Teviotdale, craving that the council would interpose their civil authority for keeping a day of solemn and public thanksgiving to God for the preservation of his majesty’s person and the Protestant religion from the many dangers and execrable conspiracies they have been exposed to read, and a proclamation appointed to be prepared and presented to the council at their meeting tomorrow ordaining a solemn thanksgiving to be kept throughout all the kingdom for the causes foresaid upon the days following viz 10 November instant for the town of Edinburgh and suburbs thereof, and 24 November for all the rest of the kingdom.
