Report of the Comittee anent John Tweedie

The Comittee Anent John Tweeddies examinatione haveing reported that they examined the said John And also Captain Baxter and ane Ensigne and serjeant who did see his behaviour when he wes taken and in the guaird And that they find the said John hes been verie Insolent in his Carriadge And hes uttered treasonable expressiones and hes been very unmanerly to the Comittee And that they have Comitted him prisoner to the Iron house in Edinburgh tolbooth to be keeped prisoner there in Irons and fedd upon bread and water till the Councills further order The Councill approves of the said report and what the Comittee hes done

Report of the committee concerning John Tweedie

The committee for John Tweeddie’s examination having reported that they examined the said John and also Captain Baxter and an ensign and serjeant who saw his behaviour when he was taken and in the guard, and that they find the said John has been very insolent in his carriage and has uttered treasonable expressions and has been very unmannerly to the committee, and that they have committed him prisoner to the iron house in Edinburgh tolbooth to be kept prisoner there in irons and fed on bread and water till the council’s further order. The council approves of the said report and what the committee has done.
