Procedure

Remitt to the Lord Chancellour anent heretors of Midlouthian

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby remitt to the Lord High Chancellour To Give warrand for Liberation of such of the heretors and Midlouthian prisoners for refuseing the oath of alleadgeance and assureance as shall apply to his Lordships upon the accompt of sicknes or Indispositione and produce to them ane testificat of the same by phisicians Bearing expressly upon soull and Conscience They alwayes first Finding cautione acted in the books of privie Councill to Live peaceablie and appear next Councill day after the warrand is granted under such penalty as his Lordship shall think fitt.

Procedure

Remit to the lord chancellor concerning heritors of Midlothian

The lords of their majesties’ privy council do hereby remit to [John Hay, earl of Tweeddale] the lord high chancellor to give warrant for liberation of such of the heritors and Midlothian prisoners for refusing the oath of allegiance and assurance as shall apply to his lordship upon the account of sickness or indisposition, and produce to him a testificat of the same by physicians bearing expressly upon soul and conscience, they always first finding caution acted in the books of privy council to live peaceably and appear next council day after the warrant is granted under such penalty as his lordship shall think fit.
