Comittee anent the Earle of Sieforth and others

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby Recomend to the Lord Raith theasurer deputt Sir John Maxwell of Pollock and Sir William Lockhart or any tuo of them to Examine Kenneth Earle of Sieforth Thomas Mcbriar brewer in the Canongate and prisoner in the tolbooth thereof and William Gordon of Pencaitland In whose house the said Earle was apprehended prisoner in […] And Lykewayes the Earles servants or others what they know of any designe againest there majestyes or the Government and of the said Earle his Concerne therein or any other persones And upon such Interrogators as they shall think pertinent And Recomends to the said Comittee to report to the Councill tomorrow at there meeting in the forenoon

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby recommend to the Lord Raith, treasurer depute, Sir John Maxwell of Pollock and Sir William Lockhart or any two of them to examine Kenneth [MacKenzie], earl of Seaforth, Thomas McBriar, brewer in the Canongate and prisoner in the tolbooth thereof, and William Gordon of Pencaitland in whose house the said earl was apprehended in […], and also the earl’s servants or others concerning what they know of any design against their majesties or the government and of the said earl his concern therein or any other persons, and upon such questions as they shall think pertinent, and they recommend to the said committee to report to the council tomorrow at their meeting in the forenoon.
