Procedure

Comittee anent persones under bale In relatione to these in the Bass

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Counsell doe hereby Recomend to the Earle of Crawfurd and Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there Majestyes forces within this Kingdom to take tryall what persones are under baill befor the Counsell for there being in armes againest or for dissobedience, and dissatisfactione to, there majestyes and the government And to Consider who of these persones it will be fit presently to call for, to make there appearance befor the Counsell And Lykewayes to take tryall what persones have been Imprisoned upon the grounds forsaids and are by order of Counsell Liberate upon baill And to Consider who of these persones it will be fitt presently to call for, and returne to prisone again That Measures may be taken for Induceing these who hold out the Bass to Surrender or Capitulate upon the accompt of Such persones

Committee concerning persons under bail in relation to those in the Bass

The lords of their majesties’ privy council do hereby recommend to [William Lindsay] the earl of Crawford and Sir Thomas Livingston, commander-in-chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom, to take trial what persons are under bail before the council for their being in arms against, or for disobedience, and dissatisfaction to, their majesties and the government, and to consider which of these persons it will be fit presently to call for to make their appearance before the council. And likewise to take trial what persons have been imprisoned upon the grounds foresaid and are by order of council liberated upon bail, and to consider which of these persons it will be fit presently to call for, and return to prison again that measures may be taken for inducing those who hold out the Bass to surrender or capitulate upon the account of such persons.
