Comittee anent fisher boats seized by the Bass etc

The Lord2 High Chancellour haveing signifyed to the Lord[s] of privie Councill That his Lordships being Informed that the rebells in the Bass have this last week seized upon three fisher boats from Fisherraw while they were fishing And have taken all there fish from them And that they forced the saids boats to the Isle of Maij And there Loaded them with coalls which they Carryed from thence to the Bass And that the rebells hade putt out a boat with […] men strongely armed who attended and Commanded the fisher boats all the whyle till they were dismissed And that his Lordship hes Caused bring to Edinburgh severall persones who were in the fisher boats to the end the Councill might be fully informed of the matter The saids Lords of privie Councill doe hereby recommend to the Lord Polwarth and Sir John Lauder of Fountainhall ane of the Senators of the Colledge of Justice (the comittee formerly appointed to take tryall anent a boat carryed from Fisherraw to the Bass) to examine the persones now brought to Edinburgh by the Lord Chancellours warrand what they know anent this effair of seizeing the Fisherboats takeing there fish from them and Carryeing in coalls to the Bass And anent the boat and armed men who Came from the Bass and Commanded the saids fisherboats And hereby adds Sir John Lauder of Hattoune one of the senators of the Colledge of Justice to the forsaid comittee And declares any tuo of them to be a quorum And Recomends to them to meet this day at three acloack in the efternoon That they may make there report to the Councill the morrow in the forenoon3

Committee concerning fishing boats seized by the Bass etc

The lord high chancellor having signified to the lords of privy council that his lordship being informed that the rebels in the Bass have this last week seized upon three fishing boats from Fisherrow while they were fishing and have taken all their fish from them, and that they forced the said boats to the Isle of May and there loaded them with coals which they carried from thence to the Bass and that the rebels had put out a boat with […] men strongly armed who attended and commanded the fishing boats all the while till they were dismissed, and that his lordship has caused bring to Edinburgh several persons who were in the fishing boats to the end the council might be fully informed of the matter. The said lords of privy council hereby recommend to [Patrick Hume] Lord Polwarth and Sir John Lauder of Fountainhall one of the senators of the college of justice (the committee formerly appointed to take trial concerning a boat carried from Fisherrow to the Bass) to examine the persons now brought to Edinburgh by the lord chancellor’s warrant what they know concerning this affair of seizing the fishing boats, taking their fish from them and carrying in coals to the Bass, and concerning the boat and armed men who came from the Bass and commanded the said fishing boats, and they hereby add Sir John Lauder of Hatton, one of the senators of the college of justice to the foresaid committee and declare any two of them to be a quorum, and recommend to them to meet this day at three o’clock in the afternoon that they may make their report to the council tomorrow in the forenoon.
