Procedure

Remitt to a Comittee anent quakers

A paper be the Quakers Compleaning of abuses done to them be the people in Glasgow read, and the Councill recomends to the Lords Carmichaell and Polwarth to meet with the proveist of Glasgow being present on the place and speack with him in this effair that the quakers be not troubled nor molested They alwayes behaveing themselves peaceablie as becometh.

A paper by the Quakers complaining of abuses done to them by the people in Glasgow read, and the council recommends to the Lords [John Carmichael] Carmichael [Sir Patrick Hume] Polwarth to meet with the provost of Glasgow, being present on the place, and speak with him in this affair, that the Quakers be not troubled nor molested, they always behaving themselves peaceably as becomes [them].
