Comittee anent Encamping the forces etc

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby recomend to the Earles of Linlithgow and Louthian the Lord viscount Stair. The Lord Carmichaell and Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there majesties forces within this Kingdome To Consider If it be fitt in the present exigent that the standing forces in this Kingdome (besydes the garisones) Should be encamped in one bodie And what place will be most convenient for there encamping If found necessary And how the saids forces shall be furnished with necessarie provisiones aither in there Camp or on there marches And particularly how they shall be provyded with baggadge horse to the greatest ease of the Countrie and best service of the forces And declares any three of this Comittee to be a quorum The said Sir Thomas being falwayes2 one of the three And recomends to them to make report of there procedure to the Councill And recomends to the same Comittee to Consider the petition given in be Captain Sletzer anent the artilery and the Condition of the artilery Company And how a sufficient number of picks and partizans May be tymously provyded for the present service

Committee for encamping the forces etc

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby recommend to the earls of Linlithgow and Lothian, Viscount Stair, Lord Carmichael and Sir Thomas Livingston, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom to Consider if it is fit in the present exigency that the standing forces in this kingdom (besides the garrisons) should be encamped in one body and what place will be most convenient for their encamping if found necessary, and how the said forces shall be furnished with necessary provisions either in their camp or on their marches, and particularly how they shall be provided with baggage horse to the greatest ease of the country and best service of the forces, and declare any three of this committee to be a quorum, the said Sir Thomas being always one of the three, and they recommend to them to make report of their procedure to the council, and they recommend to the same committee to consider the petition given in by Captain Slezer anent the artillery and the condition of the artillery company, and how a sufficient number of pikes and partisans may be timeously provided for the present service.
