Comittee anent Beggars

The Lords of there majestyes privie Councill haveing heard the overture from the Comittee for drawing a proclamatione anent Beggars again read and some amendements made thereon They recomend to the former Comittee with the Earle of Linlithgow and Laird of Steivinstoun or any tuo of the wholl being a quorum to revise these overtures and further amend the same or add thereto as they shall find Just and expedient And that the beggars be appointed to have distinct cadges in everie paroch And recomends to the Comittee to prepare a draught of a proclamatione in this matter to be presented to the Councill which is to containe a Certificatione againest such beggars as shall prevericat in giveing accompt of the paroches of there birth or who shall not declare the true paroch of the Same.

Committee concerning Beggars

The lords of their majesties’ privy council having heard the overture from the committee for drawing a proclamation concerning beggars again read and some amendments made thereon, they recommend to the former committee with the Earl of Linlithgow and Laird of Stevenson or any two of the whole being a quorum, to revise these overtures and further amend the same or add thereto as they shall find just and expedient, and that the beggars be appointed to have distinct cadges in every parish and recommends to the committee to prepare a draught of a proclamation in this matter to be presented to the council which is to contain a certification against such beggars as shall prevaricate in giving account of the parishes of their birth or who shall not declare the true parish of the same.
