Comittee for Inspecting James Cockburns papers

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill doe hereby Recomend to My Lord Carmichaell and Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarrony to take Inspection of the wreitts and papers belonging to James Cockburn Goldsmith in Edinburgh which are in a Cabinett and Little trunck both sealled now presently Lyeing in the Councill chamber And if there be any wreitts or papers amongst them which doe relate to the Government and to make there report to the Counsell at there next meeting

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby recommend to Lord Carmichael and Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony to inspect the writs and papers belonging to James Cockburn, goldsmith in Edinburgh, which are in a cabinet and little trunk (both sealled) now presently lying in the council chamber, and to see if there are any writs or papers amongst them which relate to the government and to make their report to the council at their next meeting.
