Committie anent the above Letter

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having heard a Letter from his Majestie to their Lordships of the date the Eleventh of Janwary Instant red in their presence They heirby nominat and appoynte The Earls of Craufurd and Leven Lord Viscount Stairs Lord Thesaurer Depute Lord Ruthven Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in cheiff of their Majesties forces within this kingdome Lord Aberurchill one of the senators of the Colledge of Justice Sir Robert Sinclar of Steivensone and Sir John Maxuell of Pollock To be a Committie for Considering the said Letter and how the heids and poynts therof may be with all expeditione obeyed and fullfilled And Recommends to the said Committie to prepare a proclamatione In the tearmes and to the ends mentioned in the said Letter And declares any fyve of the said Committie to be a Quorum And Recommends to them to meet on Munday nixt at ten of the clock in the forenoon and to report to the Councell at their nixt dyet of meeting And Recommends to the said Committie to Consider what course is to be taken for the money alleadged robbed from the Quarter master to the Earle of Argyls regiment and how that money shall be made up to the said Regiment And they supplyed for their Majesties present service Being about four Hundreth pounds sterline

Committee concerning the above Letter

The lords of their majesties’ privy council having heard a letter from his majesty to their lordships of the date 11 January instant read in their presence they hereby nominate and appoint [William Lindsay] earl of Crawford and [David Leslie] Earl of Leven, Lord [James Dalrymple] Viscount Stair, lord treasurer depute [Alexander Melville] Lord Ruthven, Sir Thomas Livingstone, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within this kingdom, [Sir Colin Campbell] Lord Aberurchill, one of the senators of the college of justice, Sir Robert Sinclar of Stevenson and Sir John Maxwell of Pollok to be a committee for considering the said letter and how the heads and points thereof may be with all expedition obeyed and fulfilled, and recommend to the said committee to prepare a proclamation in the terms and to the ends mentioned in the said letter, and declare any five of the said committee to be a quorum, and recommend to them to meet on Monday next at ten of the clock in the forenoon and to report to the council at their next diet of meeting. And recommend to the said committee to consider what course is to be taken for the money alleged robbed from the quarter master to the earl of Argyll’s regiment and how that money shall be made up to the said regiment and they supplied for their majesties’ present service, being about four hundred pounds sterling.
