Committie anent Mr Androw Bruce minister at Pitenweyme

The Lords of their majesties privy Councill having heard ane Petitione given in to them be the heritors late magistrats elders and inhabitants of the burgh and Parish of Pitenweyme Representing that ther was one Calumnious lybell given in to the united Presbytries of St Androwes and Couper by some inhabitants of Pitenweyme Against Mr Androw Bruce their faithfull minister and that therupon the presbytrie Did proceid most unjustly allowing his open and avowed enemies to be witnesses against him, Tho the petitioners and he hade apealed to the nixt provincill or generall assembly And Craveing that the presbytrie might be Discharged from Calling a minister untill the nixt assembly untill the said appeale ware Discust The Saids Lords heirby appoint one of their clerks to writt to the united presbytries of St Androwes and Couper Desyring them to send over some of their number to Edinburgh to attend the Committie of Councill appoynted to conferr with them in the above matter viz The Lord Fountonhall and Sir Robert Sinclar of Stivenson and that at the dyet to be appoynted by the said Comittie And appoints the Clerk to transmitt a Copie of the said petitione in the letter to the said unitted presbytries.
