Edinburgh The Twentie one day of Aprill Jaj vjc nyntie two years

Procedure: remission

Remitt to the thesaurie anent the burgh of Aberdeen Montross etc

Anent a Petition given in to the Lords of their Majesties privy Councill be the Burghs of Aberdeen, Montross Bamff, Dundie, Cullen and Aberbrothwick Shewing That quher in obedience to the saids Lords proclamation and Comands, The petitioners hade brought up and delivered off their respective proportiones and quotta of the seamen or therby, Imposed upon them And have Recovered recepts therupon, And in Respect the petitioners have been at great and Considerable Charges and expences in mantaneing of the said seamen since the time of the outtaking of them some of the space of two moneths some six weeks and others for Lesser tyme, And in transporting of them into this place with guards and in takeing up and makeing lists of seamen in other sea Ports not within their Jurisdictiones (By and attour what is alowed by their majesties proclamatione being Fourtie shilling sterling and sixpence per diem from the day of their march Conforme to the respective accounts therwith produced, And that ther are considerable soumes due to the petitioners allready advanced for their majestie forces, and quherof they hade gotten no payment By all which they are Disabled to serve their majesties in their station as they willingly would And Therfore Humbly Craveing the saids Lords to take the premisses to their Consideratione And grant warrand to the petitioners to have allowance of the soumes of money abovementioned advanced be them as extraordinary expences upon the accompt of the said seamen out of the cess payable be them Wherby they might be inabled and encouradged to their dutie in their majesties service in all tyme comeing as the petitione bears. The Lords of their Majesties privy Councill Haveing heard this petitione given in them be the above burghs They Remit the same and accompts quherto it relates To the Consideratione of the Commissioners of their Majesties thesaurie And Recomends to their Lordships to doe therin as the should find Just.
