Act The Tennants of Linktoune of Abottshall

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Haveing Considered the Report of a Comittie of their oun number appoynted for reviseing the accompts resting be their Majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie haveing Considered the accompts given in to2 them as resting be Collonell Richard Cunninghame his regiment of Foot (which is upon Scots pay) to the inhabitants of the Linktoune of Abottshall, with the instructiones of verificationes of these accompts They Find that ther are two articles of these accompts Excepted out of the report of the Commissioners of Supply aftermentioned Which two articles, The Committie have refused, And The Committie Finds the haill other articles of the saids accompts (besides the two refused articles) sufficiently verified and proven particularly be the recepts or subscryved accompts under the hands of the officers or souldiers of the said regiment, and particularly be the reports subscryved be the Commissioners of Supply within the shyre of Fyfe Bearing that the saids inhabitants have Deponed before them that the saids accompts are truely resting owing to them be the souldiers of the said regiment and partly both be recepts or subscryved accompts, and be the saids reports and Finds after the saids two refused articles are Deduced ther are still resting owing be the souldiers of the said Collonell Cunninghames regiement to the saids Inhabitants of the Linktoune of Abottshall The soume of Seven hundreth thrie 3 score thrie punds nyntein Shilling scots money and Finds that the haill articles of the saids accompts are truely furnished preceiding the first day of February Jaj vjc nyntie one years. And that they are all in the termes of the nynth act Fourth sessione of their Current parliament entituled act for polemoney and of the proclamation of Councill dated the Last day of Jully Jaj vjc nyntie four years relative therto and Therfore It is ther opinion that the said soume of seven Hundred Thriescore thrie punds nyntein shilling scots money Is to be payed to the Inhabitants of the toune of Linktoune of Abottshall out of the said Polemoney and that the saids Inhabitants are to be Recommended to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties 4 Thesaury5 for payment of the samen accordingly as the said report in it self at more length proports The saids Lords Doe heirby Recommend to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Thesaury To Cause payment be made to the saids Inhabitants of Abbotshall of the above soume of seven hundreth sixtie thrie punds nyntein shilling scots money out of the present polemoney.

Act the toune of Montross for additionall accompts.

The Lords of their Majesties privy Councill having Considered the report of a Committie of their oun number appointed for reviseing the accompts resting by their majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie Considering that ther are allready some accompts allowed to the inhabitants of the toune of Montross, and that ther were severall articles then not suficiently instructed and which were Remitted to farder probatione Conforme to the report of the Councill following theron of the date the […] day of […] and the Committie having Considered the accompt now given in be the inhabitants forsaids They Find that ther are severall articles of the said accompt which are not in the termes of the proclamation of Councill of the date the threttie first day of Jully Last And Therfore have Refused the same And that ther is resting be their majesties forces after Condescended on to the saids inhabitants besides the articles formerly allowed to them and these now refused, The articles following Which they find suficiently proven either by depositions taken before the Commissioners of Supply or by recepts now produced viz be Coll Cuninghames party which the Committie finds did Consist of the Colls oun regiement Thrie hundreth of the viscount of Kenures regiement thrie hundreth off Belverages regiment, The Lord Elphingstounes troop of 2 horss and the Lord Cardross his oun troope of Dragoons the soume of ane hundreth seventie four punds Eleven shilling six penies Scots Item be the said party to William Lindsay in Hedderwick, William Mylne in Balmakewen John Will at the Mylne of Burrowfeild John Gregior, The Laird of Collinstoune and Baillie Mylne the soume of two hundreth sixtie two punds ten shilling scots money forsaid as the pryce of thretty seven bolls and two firlots of wheat meall, and the Committee are of oppinion that such part of the above soumes as are resting be the scots forces is to be payed or allowed out of the present polmoney Conforme to the act of parliament appointing the same and proclamatione of privy Councill relative therto of the date the thretie first day of Jully Jaj vjc nyntie four and that the inhabitants of Montross and remanent persons forsaids are to be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of their majesties thesaurie for that effect and that such part of the saids Soumes as are resting be the English forces Is to be transmitted to the kings majestie that in his Royall wisdome he may order such Course to be taken for satisfeing the same as he shall think Just Conforme to the above proclamatione, And the Committie Finds that the second article stated in this accompt upon the Lord Angus regiment was not furnished to that Regiment But to the Lord Cardross his Dragoons And Therfore have Caused delite the same from Angus Regiment and state it upon these Dragoons, And Finds ther is resting by the Lord Angus regiment after the forsaid article is Deduced seventie two punds seven shilling Eight penies scots And Finds that ther is resting be the Lord Cardross Dragoons be this accompt with additione of the forsaid article The Soume of Twentie Eight punds nyntein shilling scots and furder Finds that ther is resting be the saids Dragoons to the saids Inhabitants of Montross Conforme to another accompt and precept on the end therof upon the Lords of thesaurie be Major Guthrie who Commanded them the soume of thretie Eight pund ten shilling four penies scots And Finds that ther is resting be Major Stewarts troope thrie punds scots and it is the oppinion of the Comittie that all these soumes resting be the Lord Angus regiment The Lord Cardross Dragoons and Major Stewarts troope are to be payed or allowed out of the said polemoney and that the inhabitants forsaid are to be recomended to the saids Lords of their majesties thesaury for payment or allowance of the same accordingly And Finds that ther is nothing be the Lords Elphingstoune and Cardross Dragoons under the Comand of Captain Livt Home as the went north with the forces being four nights fiftie two pund scots, and it is the Committies oppinion that this is to be allowed to the saids inhabitants out of the above fund, and that they are to be Recomended to the Lord of thesaurie for payment of the same accordingly, And Finds that ther is no resting be the Lord Colchester and Balverages regiments the soume of threty nyn punds twelue Shilling scots to the saids inhabitants and the Laird of Logie, And the Committie are of oppinion that this is to be transmitted to the kings majestie That in his Royall wisdom he may order such Course to be taken for satisfieing the same as he shall think Just as the report bears The Saids Lords of their majesties privy Councill Doe heirby Recommend to the Lords Commissioners of Act Anent the Toune of Killmarnocks accompts.

The Lords of their majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the report of a Committie of their oun number to whom it was Remitted to revise the accompts resting be his Majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie haveing Considered the accompts presented to them and due be their majesties forces therin and aftermentioned to the toune and barrony of Killmarnock and Granger and inhabitants therof, Togither with the instructions and verificationes of the saids accompts They Find the haill articles of the saids accompts suficiently verified and proven in maner following Viz By report of thrie of the Commissioners of Supply or assessment within the shyre of Air bearing that such of the inhabitants forsaid mentioned in the saids accounts as hade recepts produced the same before the saids Commissioners did take the oathes of such of the persones in the saids accompts as have no recepts who deponed that the saids accompts are all Justly resting Conforme to the severall pages of the saids accompts subscryved as said is and all the persones in the saids accompts Deponed that they have Charged no more then thrie shilling a day for each souldier and that they Charged no more dayes then truely the Souldiers were quartered on them, and that such of the saids inhabitants as had furnished the souldiers any necessars Deponed upon the verity therof And that ther was no part therof payed, And also bearing that the rates of Corne and straw furnished to Sir John Laniers regiment or troops as they are sett doune in the saids accompts are the true rates Conforme Toune the soume of ane hundreth and two punds ten shilling scots Extending the haill soumes forsaids resting be the saids forces upon the scots pay to the inhabitants of the said toune paroch and barrones of Killmarnock and Grangar to the soume of thrie thousand fourty nyne punds seventein shilling six penies scots And the Comittie Finds that the haill articles and soumes stated in the saids accompts as resting by ther Majesties forces upon the scots pay are all in the termes of the nynth act Fourth session of this Current parliament Intitulled act for pole money dated the twentie nynth The Lords of their majesties privy Councill haveing Considered a report of a Committie of ther oun number for revising the accompts resting be their majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing that the said Committie haveing Considered the accompt given in as resting to Androw Plumber of Midlstead with the instructione and verifications therof They Find it suficiently verified and proven be the oath and depositione of the said Androw Plumber and by the report of the Commissioners of Supply within the shyre of Tiviotdale and by a note under the hand and subscriptione of Captaine James Colt the deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragoons all which instructiones were produced to and Considered by the said Committie That the said Androw Plumber hade the number of fourty horsses belonging to the said regiment in the parks meadowes and other Grass belonging to him within the paroch of Bouden for the space of Twentie dayes and twentie nights And it is allowed to the said Androw for each of the saids horsses per diem thrie shilling scots Extending in the wholl to the soume ane hundreth and twenty punds scots money And Finds that the said Grassing was preceiding the first day of February Jaj vjc nyntie years And Therfore it is the opinion of the Comittie that the said soume of ane hundreth and Twentie punds scots is to be payed to the said Androw Plumer out of the polemoney appointed by the nynth act of the fourth sessione of this Current parliament dated the twenty nynth day of may Jaj vjc nyntie thrie years and that he is to be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of ther majesties thessaurie for payment of the same accordingly as the 2 Report in it self bears The saids Lords Doe heirby approve of the above report And Recomends to the Lords Commissioners of their majesties thesaury to cause payment be made to the said Androw Plumber of the above soume of one hundreth and twentie punds Scots out of the present polmoney.

The Lords of their majesties privy Councill haveing Considered a report of a Committie of their oun number appoynted for reviseing the accompts resting by ther majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing that the said Comittie having Considered the report of the Commissioners of Supply within the shyre of Fyfe anent the park of Statyrum or Balgove with the declaratione of George Howat factor appoynted be the Lords of Sessione for uplifting the rents of Sir William Sharp of Scotscrage his estate in Fyfe They find that the rent of the said park was fiftie punds sterling yearly And Therfore it is ther oppinione that for the time the two troops belonging to the Lord Jedburgh then Lord Newbotle And Captaine Bennett of Grubett pastured in the said park The said Sir William should have allowed to him the soume of thrie hundred punds scots or damnadge done by pastureing the saids troops in the said park which was in the year Jaj vjc nyntie years And it is their oppinion that he should be Recomended to the Lords Commissioners of ther majesties thesaury for payment of the said soume of thrie hundreth punds out of the polemony appointed by the nynth act fourth sessione of this Current parliament as the said Report in it self more fully bears, They heirby Recomend to the Lords Commissioners of ther majesties thesaurie To Cause 2 payment be made to the said Sir William Sharp of the above soume of thrie hundred punds scots out of the present pole money.

The Lords of their majesties privy Councill Doe hereby recomend to the lords Commissioners of their Majesties Thesaurie To cause such suitable mentainance and provisione to be made for the maimed souldiers lately come from Flanders as they may be transported to their owne home and keept from the publict streets least the same may tend to the prejudice of their majesties service by discourageing others from engadgeing in the present recruits designed thither.
