Act Anent the Toune of Killmarnocks accompts.
The Lords of their majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the report of a Committie of their oun number to whom it was Remitted to revise the accompts resting be his Majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie haveing Considered the accompts presented to them and due be their majesties forces therin and aftermentioned to the toune and barrony of Killmarnock and Granger and inhabitants therof, Togither with the instructions and verificationes of the saids accompts They Find the haill articles of the saids accompts suficiently verified and proven in maner following Viz By report of thrie of the Commissioners of Supply or assessment within the shyre of Air bearing that such of the inhabitants forsaid mentioned in the saids accounts as hade recepts produced the same before the saids Commissioners did take the oathes of such of the persones in the saids accompts as have no recepts who deponed that the saids accompts are all Justly resting Conforme to the severall pages of the saids accompts subscryved as said is and all the persones in the saids accompts Deponed that they have Charged no more then thrie shilling a day for each souldier and that they Charged no more dayes then truely the Souldiers were quartered on them, and that such of the saids inhabitants as had furnished the souldiers any necessars Deponed upon the verity therof And that ther was no part therof payed, And also bearing that the rates of Corne and straw furnished to Sir John Laniers regiment or troops as they are sett doune in the saids accompts are the true rates Conforme to the saids Commissioners ther act and Finds the most part of the articles of the saids accompts instructed both by recepts and be the said report, And the Committie Finds that ther is resting by ther majesties forces upon scots pay herein and in the saids accompts named as they are stated upon regiements Companies and troops in maner underwritten the soumes following viz by the Earle of Argyle his regiment of foot and severall Companies therof as followes Impr: By the said Earle his oun Company the same of Thrie hundred and seven punds twelue shilling six penies scots money Item by Sir Duncan Campbell of Auchinbreck Livd Coll of the said regiment his Company the soume of ane hundreth seventie nyne punds six shilling scots Item by Major Archibald Rollo his Company the Soume of five hundreth forscore two punds ten shilling Eight pennies scots Item by the Laird of Arkindlass his Company the soume of ane hundreth four score one punds four shilling two penies scots, Item by Captain John Campbell his Company the soume of Two hundreth twentie two punds thretein shiling Eight penies scots Item by the Laird of Allangreg his Company the soume of Two hundreth nyntie five punds five shilling scots Item by Captaine Campbell of Airds his Company the soume of thrie hundreth twentie thrie punds five shilling scots Item by Captaine Mcaula of Ardincaple his Company the soume of Two hundred thretie four punds sixtein shilling four penies scots Item by Captaine Duncanson his Company the soume of thrie hundred and five punds seventein shilling six pennies scots Item by the Laird of Westerbaines his Company the soume of ane hundred and fourtie punds ten shilling scots item by the Laird of Glenlyon his Company the soume of Twentie punds on shilling scots More by the said Regiment to the saids inhabitants of the toune and paroch of Killmarnock the soume of Fourtie four punds four shilling four penies, 2 scots upon ane page and the soume of sixtie nyne punds nyntein shilling four penies one another page and the soume of twentie punds on a thrid page of the saids accompts Extending the saids thrie pages to the soume of ane hundreth therty four punds thrie shilling Eight penies scots Item by the Earle of Glencairne his regiement to the said toune of Killmarnock twenty punds two shilling two penies money forsaid Item by the Earle of Marr his Regiment to the said Toune the soume of ane hundreth and two punds ten shilling scots Extending the haill soumes forsaids resting be the saids forces upon the scots pay to the inhabitants of the said toune paroch and barrones of Killmarnock and Grangar to the soume of thrie thousand fourty nyne punds seventein shilling six penies scots And the Comittie Finds that the haill articles and soumes stated in the saids accompts as resting by ther Majesties forces upon the scots pay are all in the termes of the nynth act Fourth session of this Current parliament Intitulled act for pole money dated the twentie nynth day of May Jaj vjc nyntie thrie, And alse in the termes of the proclamation of Councill relative therto dated the Last day of Jully Jaj vjc nyntie four, And Therfore It is the Committies oppinion that the said Soume of thrie Thousand fourty nyne punds sevein shilling six penies scots ought to be allowed to the saids Inhabitants out of the said pole money And that they ought to be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of ther majesties thesaury for payment of thee same accordingly And the Committie Finds it suficiently proven in maner forsaid that ther is resting by Sir John Lanier his Regiement which is not upon scots pay to the inhabitants of the said toune of Killmarnock the soume of ane hundreth and Eighty four punds four shilling Scots as the report in itself bears The saids Lords of their majesties privy Councill Doe hereby Recommend to the Lords Commissioners of their Majesties thesaury To Cause payment be made to the saids inhabitants of the said soume of Thrie Thousand fourtie nyne pund seventein shilling six penies scots money and that our of the present polemoney.
