Letter from the King for demolishing the Bass
The follouing Letter from the Kings majestie To The Councell being read was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor folloues

Right trustie and Right well beloved Cousin and Councelors Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and right well beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and right uell beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and well beloved Councelors And Trustie and uell beloved Councelors We Greet yow well We approve of the articles of Capitulatione agreed on uith those that held out the Bass And It is our pleasure that Indemnities be expede and Liberty granted to such as by the said articles have a claime to aither of them and that all other things be done that is necessary to doe for the full performance of the saids articles All which we now ratifie as if the samen were actuallie done: We doe Lykeuise Requyre yow to Give orders to Major Generall Livingstoune the Commander in cheiff of our forces to make demolish all works fortifications and other buildings whatsoever upon the Bass And to remove thence the Cannon amunition and whatever else may be serviceable elsewher And so we bid yow heartily farewell Given at our Court at Kensingtoune the 30 day of Apryle 1694 and of our reigne the sixth year 1694 By his majesties Command sic subscribitur J Johnstoun
