Act anent the shyre of Edinburghs accompts

The Lords of their Majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the accompts given in for the Inhabitants within the shire of Edinburgh as resting to them by their Majesties forces upon the scots pay, togither with the report of a Comittie of their oun number to whom it was remitted to Consider the accompts resting by their majesties forces to the Countrey who hade Considered the accompts given in by the Inhabitants within the said shyre of Edinburgh They Find that ther are some articles in these accompts which are not instructed And Therfore they have Caused delate the same, And Finds that ther are some articles stated at extraordinary rates, Which they have restricted to and Caused state at the ordinary rates, And Finds that ther are some articles stated which of their oun nature are not allowable and Therfore have Caused delite the same, And Finds that besides these articles above narratied Ther is still resting by their Majesties forces upon Scots pay to the inhabitants of the said shyre of Edinburgh (which they Find sufficiently verified and instructed partly by writ, partly by the oathes of the inhabitants, pairtly by witnesses, and pairtly by reports from the Commissioners of Supply within the said shyre and by ane attestatione subscryved by the Commissioners relateing to the saids accompts The particular soumes following Which are resting by the saids forces as they are stated in regiments and troopes to the saids inhabitants as they are ranked in parishes in maner after sett doune Viz be the Earle of Eglingtoune his troop to the inhabitants of the West Kirk parish the soume of ane Thousand and five punds five shilling and nyne penies scots, By the Laird of Gravit his Troop to the inhabitants of the said parish The soume of Fourty seven punds six shilling scots, By Coll Cuninghames regiment of foot to the inhabitants of the said parish the soume of Threttie one pund sixtein shilling scots Extending the haill soumes due to the said parish of the West Kirk To the soume of ane Thousand Eightie four punds seven shilling and nyne penies scots Item by the Laird of Gravits troop to the inhabitants of the parish of Libertoune the soume of Four hundred and Eighty two punds six shilling scots, By my Lord Yesters troop to the inhabitants of the said parish the soume of Twenty two punds nyne shilling Eight penies scots, By the deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragoons to the inhabitants within the said parish the soume of Threttie five punds six shilling scots, Item by the Gentlmen of the Lord Newbotles troop to the inhabitants of Extending the said soumes due to the inhabitants within the said parish of Libbertoune altogither in haill to the soume of ane Thousand thriescore punds four shilling two penies scots Item By the By the Earle of Annandale his troop of horse to the inhabitants within the said parish The soume of Twentie one punds eightein shilling eight penies scots Extending the haill soumes due to the inhabitants within the said parish of Collingtoune To the soume of Eight hundreed Fourtie punds threttein shilling scots, Item by the deceast Lord Cardross his regiement of Dragoons to the inhabitants within the parish of Leswaid The soume of Two hundreth seventie nyne pund five shilling scots Item by the Gentlmen of the Lord Elphingstoune his troop of horss to the inhabitants of the parish of Borthwick The soume of Threttie four punds scots, Item by the Gentlmen of the Earle of Eglingtoune his said troop of horss to the inhabitants within the parish of Ratho, The soume of Two hundreth and Fourscore punds seven shilling nyne penies scots Item by the Lord Blantyre his regiement of foot to Mrs Howisone in the Potterraw the Soume of Twentie seven pund Eightein shilling scots Extending the haill soumes due by their majesties forces forsaids all upon scots pay altogither in one soume to the soume of six Thousand Thrie hundreth and nyntie thrie punds twelue shilling eleven penies Scots And the said Lords Finds that the haill soumes and articles in the said accompts are all in the termes of the nynth act fourth sessione of this Current parliament intituled act for polemoney dated the twentie nynth day of may Jaj vjc nyntie thrie and alsoe in the termes of the proclamatione of Councill relative therto dated the last day of Jully Jaj vjc nyntie thrie pund twelue shilling eleven penies scots to be payed to the Inhabitants of the shire out of the pole 2 money3 And Recomends them to the Lords Commissioners of ther majesties Thesaury To make payment of the same accordingly And Farder the saids Lords Finds ther is resting be their majesties forces upon scots pay besides the articles Contained in the above accompts, The soumes following viz be the Earle of Eglingtouns troop to William Johnston in Leny in Cramond parish the soume of fourtie Eight punds Eightein shilling scots Which They Find proven be the said William his oath before two Commissioners of supply of the shyre of Edinburgh Item by the same troop to John Johnstone in Corstorphine the soume of Twentie two punds nyne shilling six penies scots Which they Find proven partly by writ and partly by oath Item by the same troop to Archibald Robertsone in Neither Leny the soume of Fourtie four punds sixtein shilling instructed by his oath before the Commissioners Item be the same troop to John Wandell in Cramond instructed partly by wryt partly by recept the soume of nyntein pund four shilling scots Item by the same troop to Archibald Home in Dalry instructed both by recept and oath the soume of Threttie Eight punds scots Item by the same troop to Jannet Mure tenent in Burnewynd the soume of fiftie five punds scots Which the saids Lords Finds suficiently instructed by the oath of the Creditors and the Depositiones of famous witnesses Item by the Lord Newbotles troop to William Bell in Wester Dudingstoune for himself and other Joyners the soume of Elven pund four shilling scots instructed per the parties oath subscribed by two Commissioners of Supply within the Shire of Edinburgh Item by Edward Wilsone in the artilliary Company to Widdow Chisholme in Potteraw for meat and drink nyntein pund six shilling instructed by Oath of the partie and be witnesses before the Commissioners And The saids Lords Finds that all thir additionall articles are alsoe in the termes of the above act or parliament for pole money and of the proclamatione of Councill relateing therto, And Therfore the saids Lords of their majesties privy Councill Doe heirby Appoint the soumes forsaids in the saids additionall articles to be payed out of the said polemoney And Recomends the persones to whom the forsaid additionall articles are resting to the Lords Commissioners of their majesties thesaury for payment of the same accordingly, And Finds that upon the thretie day of may Jaj vjc nyntie years ther wes put to the Grassing in the parks of Mortonhall in the said shyre thretie six horsses of my Lord Elphingstounes troope which were not removed untill the thretein day of June therafter And modifies thrie shilling scots for each horss in the twentie four hours space Extending to the soume of seventy five punds twelue shilling scots And Finds that this soume Is to be payed to […] Trotter of Mortonhall out of the present pole money And Recomends the said […] Trotter of Mortonhall to the Lords Commissioners of their majesties thesaurie for payment of the same accordingly.
