Act

Act anent bonds to be given before the Commissioners for settling the peace of the Highlands

The Lords of their Majesties privy Councill Haveing Considered a Letter direct to them from the Comissioners for secureing the peace in the Highlands within the western district anent the Heritors Lyferenters Woodsetters and possessors of any Lands or Estates within the Highlands their giveing bonds to the peace and lists of their men above tuelve years of age and anent differences arrisen whether noblemen be oblidged to give these bonds to the Commissione or if they be priveledged To give these bonds only at Edinburgh or to the privy Councill and haveing also Considered the act of parliament appoynting the said Commissione with the Commissione itself Together with the former Commissiones of the lyke nature They find noe exceptione to have been made in these Commissiones of Noblemen from other Heretors and therefore they Hereby leave the said Commissioners appoynted by the said Comissione To proceed and act according to the tenor of their Comissione as accords in law without any distinctione of persones any maner of way whatsomever
