Act The parishioners of Aughterless.

Anent the Petition given in to the Lords of their Majesties privy Councill be the heritors and wholl parishioners of the parish of Auchterless Shewing That quheras Mr Patrick Seattone late incumbent ther about twelue years agoe thrust himself in upon the said parish not only without the Consent of William Meldrum of Haltoune patron of the said parish but over the baillie of the wholl heritors and inhabitants of the said parish to the great greiff of all and the Loss of the Life of Some, and to this day hath continued a very Scandallous and Flagitious persone to the shame of religion and discouragment of all honest people in the parish, and he being lately Conveened before the Committie of the Generall assembly appointed for the north and by them found guilty of many gross scandalls for which he was deposed, nevertheless in Contempt of all authoritie he Continues not only to keep up the keyes of the said kirk but also to invade the pulpit wherby the people of the parish are debarred from ther paroch kirk and necessitate to stand without and hear sermon in the Church yeard to ther great inconveniencie And Therfore Humbly Suplicating the saids Lords to the effect aftermentioned The Lords of their Majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the above petitione given in to them be the heritors and parishoners of the paroch of Auchterless They heirby Decerne and Ordaine the above Mr Patrick Seatton or any others in whose hands the keyes of the above kirk of Auchterless are to exhibit and deliver the same to William Meldrum of Haltoune patron of the said kirk or to […] of Coupland And also Decernes and Ordaines the said Mr Patrick Seattone To flitt and remove himself wyfe bairnes familly and tennents furth and frae the manse and Gleib of the said parish of Auchterless and to leave the samen void and redd To the effect a minister being legally setled in the said parish may enter therto, And Ordaines letters of horning on fiftein dayes under the signet of Councill to be direct heiron at the instance of eyther of the two persones above named and others in forme as effeirs.
