Recomendation for securing the sea coasts against privateers

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to the Lord High Chancelor to wryte to Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in cheiff of their Majesties forces uithin this kingdome That he dispatch a Competent Number of the forces Lying neerest to Aberbrothick to quarter ther for the security of the place against any attempts that may be made therupon by French privateers or others And Lykeuayes Recommends to the said Lord High Chancelor uith his first Conveniency to speak uith the said Sir Thomas anent the fittest measures and places for quartering the rest of the forces for securing the rest of the Sea Coasts
This was extended and delyvered instantly to the Lord Carmichaell to Carry it out to Sir Thomas Livingstoun to whom he was going to Piltoune Nota this uas not subscribed neither by the Chancelor nor any other privie Councelor
