Warrant

Warrand for apprehending the provost and Baillies of Stirlin

The Lords of their Majesties privy Council being informed by Sir James Steuart their Majesties Advocat, That he hes precognosced severall wittnesses who Declare that John Dick present provost, Thomas Miller, James Keir and John Williamson present baillies and John Robertsone present Deacon of the fleshers in Stirlin, are guilty of drinking the late King James and the pretended Prince of Wales, their healths and other Crymes, Therfor they ordain the said provost, Baillies and Deacon to be seased upon and secured, And recomends to Sir Thomas Livingstone Comander in chieff of their Majesties forces within this kingdome to send a sufficent party of their Majesties forces horse foot or dragoons to seise upon and secure the forsaids persons and Convoy them to Edinburgh and Comitt them prisoners in the Tolbooth therof and appoints the Magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of their Tolbooth to keep and detean the saids persons prisoners till farder order. And appoints Baillie Moir, The Dean of gild, Theauserer and remanent Councillers of the Toune of Stirlin to see to and secure the peace of the burgh of Stirlin and the administeratione of the Government ther.
