The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having appointed a Committie of their oune Number to meet and setle the difference betuixt the heretors of Old Aberdeen and others Anent the keys of the kirk of Old Aberdeen and the setling a Minister at the said kirk And the Committie Having mett They returned their report to the Councell In the terms follouing viz That they having heard their Majesties advocats report of the Ansuer that he gott from the masters and Regents of the Kings Colledge of Old Aberdeen to the Letter that he wrote to them by the Councels order Anent their giving up the keys of the Church of the said old toune and Leaving the same patent for such ministers as shall be deuly sent and authorized to preach therin As Lykeuise his report of the disposition of both parties to have the matter amicablie setled And that the Commissioners for the Heretors of the old toune doe offer to make the keyes furthcoming as the Councell shall order As also that they profess their uillingnes to have the Church regularly planted Being Confident that all Concerned uill be tender aither to Impose upon cleir consciences or Liberties It is the opinion of the Committie that the Lords of their majesties privy Councell should give order to the saids Heretors and all others Havers of the saids Keyes to Give them up to Mr Alexander Fraser one of the Regents of the Kings Colledge and any of the present baillies ther to be made furthcoming by him And that the said kirk may be made patent to any who shall be duely and Legallie authorized to preach in the said kirk And that the Councell by their Act should requyre and Command the saids heretors and all others Concerned to behave themselves peacablie and regularly with Certificatione That if aither The said Mr Alexander Fraser faill in the premisses or the saids Heretors give any new occasione of Complaint The Lords of Councell will be Carefull to Cause punish such as have not hitherto given due obedience or shall not give it for heirafter uith all rigor And that Letters be direct for that effect upon tuenty four hours warning as the said Report Bears The Saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered the above report They heirby approve therof And Interpones their authority therto And Decernes and ordaines the same to have the strength and force of ane Act or sentence of privie Councell And ordaines Letters of horning and others under the signet of Councell upon a charge of tuenty four hours to be direct theron att the Instance of their Majesties Sollicitor Against the Heretors of the paroch of Old Aberdeen and others havers of the keyes of the kirk of Old Aberdeen To be Condescended upon by name and designatione in the horning For giving them up to the said Mr Alexander Fraser And againstt the said Mr Alexander for making the keyes furthcoming that the kirk may be made patent to any who shall be duely and Legallie authorized to preach in the said Kirk
