Att Edinburgh the fourth day of Apryle Jaj vic nyntie four years

Act

Alteration of Mcclauchlans sentence

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby alter that part of their sentence pronunced by them against John Mcclauchlane schoolmaster wherby he is ordained to be scourged through the high street To his being Carryed to and standing on the pillary this day And ther to stand from Eleven to tuelve of the Clock in the forenoon And upon the Eleventh day of Apryle instant to be Carryed to the pillary in Glasgow And ther to stand for the Lyke Space And appointes him to be Convoyed to to the saids pillaries by the hangman or Commone executioner in the place And appoints him to take a paper on his Brow or forehead uith these uords wryten or printed theron viz John Mcclauchlane schoolmaster at Glasgow appointed to be sett on the pillary at Edinburgh and Glasgow and sent to the plantationes For seducing and debauching souldiers to run auay from their Colours and desert their Majesties service And appoints the magistrats of the respective burghs to see the sentence forsaid putt in executione uithin their oune burghs And Recommends to Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in cheiff of his Majesties forces uithin this kingdome To Cause Convey under a sufficient guaird from the Tolbooth of Edinburgh to the tolbooth of Glasgow the persone of the said John Mcclauchlane ther to remaine untill he be transported to the plantationes in America To which he is banished by the said former sentence of Councell And ordaines the saids magistrats of Glasgow to take Care that the said John be I on board the first ship going to the saids plantationes And In the mean tyme to detaine him in prisone except the tyme that he shall be taken furth to the pillory
