ordor for Levying tuo regiments of Foot and one of Dragoons

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell In pursuance of his Majesties pleasure Contained in his royall Letter of the date the tuenty Eight day of february last signifieing that he hes thought fitt for the good of his service in this Kingdome to raise tuo other regiments of foot and one of dragoons The Later Commanded by the Lord Carmichaell And the tuo former by the Lords Murray and Lindsay And hes given Commission to the saids Lords accordingly Have Given and granted and heirby Gives and Grants warrand to and authorizes the officers of the saids regiments And for that effect to take on such persons as are willing to Engage in the service And to beat drums uithin the burgh of Edinburgh and all other places of this Kingdome for that end And ordaines all Magistrats of burghs and other Magistrats and Ministers of the Law uithin this Kingdome to Give concurrence to the saids officers for making up their saids respective regiments and for securing all such as shall willingly Engage in the same And to allow the officers the benefite of their prisones for such as shall Ingadge in making up their saids regiments The officers aluayes mantaining such persons as shall be by them detained and Committed to the saids prisones
