Warrand for the viscountess off Frendraught to remain in the Castle of Stirling

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of there majesties privie Councill be Mary Viscountess of Frendraught Shewing That where the petitioner haveing been debarred from her husband who is prisoner in the Castle of Stirling these severall weeks bypast And his estate being but verie mean and the greatest pairt thereof Lyfrented by the Viscountess Dowager of Frendraught So that there is but about six hundreth merks scotts of valued rent Left to the viscount which Cannot maintain them both when there familyes are distinct and they at distance and thereupon Craveing that there Lordships would be pleased to Grant warrand to the Governour of Stirling castle or to any under his Comand To allow the petitioner to stay with her husband or otherwayes to modifie to the Viscount of Frendraught such ane aliment as is agreeable to his quality As the said petitione bears The Saids Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill haveing considered this petition given in to them be [the] above Viscountess of Frendraught They hereby give order and warrand to the Leivetennent Governour of the Castle of Stirling and in his absence to the Inferior officers there To allow the petitioner to stay and remaine with the Viscount of Frendraught her husband who is presently prisoner in the said castle

Warrant for the viscountess of Frendraught to remain in the Castle of Stirling

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Mary Viscountess of Frendraught, showing that where the petitioner, having been debarred from her husband who is prisoner in the Castle of Stirling for several weeks past, and his estate being but very mean and the greatest part thereof liferented by the Viscountess dowager of Frendraught so that there is but about 600 merks Scots of valued rent left to the viscount which cannot maintain them both when their families are distinct and they at a distance, and thereupon craving that their lordships would be pleased to grant warrant to the governor of Stirling Castle or to any under his command to allow the petitioner to stay with her husband or otherwise to modify to the Viscount of Frendraught such an aliment as is agreeable to his quality, as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council, having considered this petition given in to them by [the] above Viscountess of Frendraught, they hereby give order and warrant to the lieutenant governor of the Castle of Stirling and in his absence to the inferior officers there to allow the petitioner to stay and remain with the Viscount of Frendraught her husband who is presently a prisoner in the said castle.
