Warrand to shutt up the Exchange Coffiehouse

The Lords of there majestyes privie Councill Doe hereby ordain the magistrats of Edinburgh Furthwith to cause shut up that Coffiehouse within the burgh of Edinburgh Called the Exchange Coffiehouse And appoints the said Coffiehouse so to continow shutt untill further order of Councill And appoints the saids magistrats to report to the Clerks of Councill the keyes of the said Coffeehouse after the samen is shutt up And that In respect of the seditious news vented in and dispersed from the said coffiehouse.

Warrant to shut up the Exchange coffee house

The lords of their majesties’ privy council do hereby ordain the magistrates of Edinburgh forthwith to cause shut up that coffee house within the burgh of Edinburgh called the Exchange coffee house, and appoint the said coffee house so to continue shut until further order of council. And appoint the said magistrates to report to the clerks of council the keys of the said coffee house after the same is shut up, and that in respect of the seditious news vented in and dispersed from the said coffee house.
