Warrand for putting James Monwell and John Wells in tuo distinct roumes

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill doe hereby ordaine the magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of there tolbooth to put in to tuo distinct roomes of the said prisone james Monwell and John Wells in Tinwell paroch in Nithsdaill shyre presently prisoners in the said tolbooth for alleadged being present at the publishing of a disloyall paper or declaratione Lately published at the mercat croce of Sanquhar and not to suffer or permitt the saids persones to speak or Converse the one with the other untill furder order

Warrant for putting James Monwell and John Wells in two distinct rooms

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby ordain the magistrates of Edinburgh and keeper of their tolbooth to put in to two distinct rooms of the said prison James Manuel and John Wells in Tinwald parish in Nithsdale shire, presently prisoners in the said tolbooth for allegedly being present at the publishing of a disloyal paper or declaration lately published at the mercat cross of Sanquhar and not to suffer or permit the said persons to speak or converse the one with the other until further order.
